NoiseRverb is a free convolution reverb plugin capturing historic churches in Quito

NoiseRoom UIO has released NoiseRverb, a free convolution reverb plugin that brings the acoustic character of Quito’s historic churches to your DAW.

Created by sound designer Jhonatan López (whose free CCMkI: Classic Compressor plugin we featured a while ago) in collaboration with engineers Analí Pinto and Fausto Espinoza, NoiseRverb is more than just a reverb plugin.

It’s a very cool sonic preservation project that delivers real-world spaces to a mixer channel in your DAW.

The plugin captures the rich, natural reverberation of seven iconic churches in Quito, Ecuador, including San Francisco, Basílica, Catedral, Compañía, Guápulo, El Sagrario, and Santo Domingo.

NoiseRverb is built around high-quality impulse responses recorded on-site in these sacred spaces. If you’ve ever used convolution reverb, you already know it can offer uncanny realism, but what sets this one apart is the history behind the captured impulses.

These aren’t generic IRs pulled from random spaces; they’re the result of a focused effort to document and preserve the acoustics of centuries-old religious architecture.

Each church has its own acoustic fingerprint, shaped by stone walls, towering ceilings, and ornate architectural details. With NoiseRverb, you can instantly switch between these spaces and apply their unique sonic textures to your own music.

From the perspective of music production, if you’re producing ambient, cinematic, choral, or experimental tracks, there’s a lot of inspiration to draw from here.

But what I really love about it is the idea behind the project. It’s so cool to be able to experience places from a different part of the globe in this way.

What’s also great is the plugin’s straightforward setup. There’s no registration, no activation, and no emails. You just download a ZIP file from the developer’s site, extract the plugin files, and drop them into your VST3 folder. It’s one of the easiest installs I’ve done in a while.

The plugin is available in VST3 format for Windows and macOS, and it runs efficiently with real-time convolution processing. The impulse responses are high resolution, so you’re getting a clear and detailed reverb tail without needing to push your CPU.
