Cinetools’ new Horror Box – Halloween Free Pack of cinematic SFX is now available for free download.
The 407 MB pack contains 50 blood-curdling one-shots, with everything you need to create a terrifying mood.
The Cinetools-designed sounds are in 24-bit, 96 kHz WAV files.
The collection includes cinematic hits, creepy atmospheres, gore FX, revving chainsaws, screams, creaking doors, the whispers of the damned, and more.
The pack is most fitting for trailers and soundtracks for screen and games, but could also apply to anyone looking to add some creepy sounds to music and audio work.
There’s a three-minute teaser on the product page that showcases the ghastly sounds of the royalty-free pack.
To my ears, the sounds have a classic Halloween vibe and even get humorously over the top in some cases.
So if you’re hoping to leave viewers shaking in their seats with cold sweats, this isn’t the best pack for it, for the most part. But for more of a spooky vibe with a bit of levity, these will definitely do the trick.
Cinetools dropped Horror Box on October 1, 2025. You can download the pack from Cinetools’ website or from Loopmasters.
To me, the easiest way to score the download is via the Cinetools site. To do so, hit “Buy” on the Cinetools product page and enter an email address (you can use a temp email address here).
Once you submit the email address, they’ll mail you a download link, from which you can download the 364.27 MB zip file in two clicks.
The method for getting Horror Box from Loopmasters requires creating/using an account on the site, and is convenient if you already have an account and some libraries on it. On the Cinetools’ site, only an email address submission is needed.
Nothing is said on either of the product pages about when or if the Horror Box expires.
So I can’t say if, after Halloween on October 31, the pack will still be around for free.
If you’re fixing to brew up some audio atrocities, you might just want to grab it now, just in case.
