PFT is a multi-filter powerhouse built for sound designers who want precise control over movement. You get three sequential filters, each with a dedicated set of nine sliders that can be shaped differently across the left and right channels.

This stereo-skewing workflow is PFT’s secret sauce, and I found that it’s super convenient for creating widening effects, gentle drifting motion, or full-on modulated filtering chaos. The manual goes into some depth about how the skew and multiplier sliders determine left/right differences in a musically predictable way, and in practice, it feels intuitive.

One of the highlights for me is the interface. I love when a plugin feels stylish without becoming cryptic, and PFT nails that balance. The GUI is clean, logically laid out, and just unusual enough to be memorable and make you want to experiment.

The two-section UI is clearly laid out to keep your workflow organized: filters up top, modulators below.

And those modulators are the main reason you’ll lose hours inside this thing. PFT includes seven modulation types, including LFO, Sequencer, MIDI, Envelope, Level follower, Mapping, and Chaos.

Each of these has surprisingly deep parameter sets.

For example, the LFO includes two sequential warp stages for shaping custom curves, and the Sequence modulator gives you drawn patterns with smoothing and snapping. Chaos offers multiple “noise engines,” including Perlin and Worley-style randomness.

Almost every continuous parameter can be modulated, and assignment is simple. You just drag a modulator’s icon onto any slider and adjust depth/polarity in the quick modulation popup. You also get four macros, which you can drag onto parameters for quick performance shaping.

Another clever detail is modulator quality modes, which determine how finely PFT calculates modulation movement inside your DAW’s buffer. If you’re doing audio-rate or near-audio-rate modulation, the High mode’s 0.5 ms sub-buffering keeps everything clean and accurate.

PFT ships with a full preset browser, including saving, loading, and quick navigation. You also get editable UI scaling and color themes.
