KuramaSound releases FREE AnalogChannel plugin for Windows

December 24, 2025By Tomislav Zlatic4 Comments
KuramaSound AnalogChannel

KuramaSound has released AnalogChannel, a free VST3 channel strip plugin for Windows that combines several Airwindows (among others) DSP algorithms into one convenient workflow.

AnalogChannel feels like a curated compilation of some of the best free DSP algorithms around, wrapped into a single, practical signal chain.

The developer behind KuramaSound has pulled together faithful ports of algorithms from Airwindows alongside classic JSFX processors typically found in Reaper projects. They’re combined into a cohesive channel strip that actually feels more convenient for day-to-day mixing (as opposed to juggling between multiple plugins).

That’s the big draw here. If you’ve ever used Airwindows plugins, you’ll know the sound quality is excellent, but the user interfaces are pretty much what’s provided by default in your DAW.

With AnalogChannel, those same algorithms are placed into fixed input, dynamics, EQ, console, and output stages that make sense as a traditional channel strip. For me, that’s the key reason to try this plugin. You get some great-sounding tools, pre-arranged into a more sensible signal flow.

The input and output stages both use Airwindows DSP for saturation and clipping, with multiple modes ranging from clean digital gain to tape- and tube-style coloration. Console emulations are also sourced from Airwindows, offering flavors inspired by Neve-, SSL-, and API-style desks.

Add to that a clean compressor, a more characterful “Style” compressor, filters, and a musical four-band EQ, and you’ve got a surprisingly deep channel strip for a freebie.

One particularly nice touch is the dual-mono architecture and Channel Variation system, which introduces subtle differences between left and right channels. It’s a simple way to emulate the “character” of an analog mixing console, especially when stacking multiple instances across a mix.

That said, the interface definitely feels like a work in progress. The layout itself is fine, and I don’t mind the colors or general structure, but the default-looking knobs are distracting and, at times, a bit confusing. Honestly, almost any custom knob design would be an improvement here, and I hope that’s the next step in development.

Even with that caveat, AnalogChannel is a very cool and unique project. If you’re interested in a free coloration-focused channel strip built from some of the best open-source algorithms available, this one is well worth checking out.

AnalogChannel is currently available for Windows only in VST3 format.
