Developer Mannix Squared has released a free plugin bundle consisting of eight refreshed and rebuilt plugins.
It’s been a couple of years, or thereabouts, since I first covered Mannix Squared on BPB, and that was the free Mix Space plugin.
Super Saturator followed shortly after Mix Space, and a couple of plugins soon became a collection of easy-to-use mix tools designed to enhance and speed up your daily workflow.
The bundle includes eight plugins that tackle everyday mixing tasks, such as tightening the low end, controlling peaks, and shaping saturation.
Here are the included plugins:
- AB Reference
- Tight Low End
- Mix Space (frequency suppression)
- Super Saturator (warmth and harmonic drive)
- Quick Chain (side-chain focused routing)
- Smear Campaign (stacked all-pass filtering)
- Detail Preserving Clipper (peak control)
- Mannix Phat (distortion and moving filters)
Mannix Squared is rebuilding that bundle from the ground up to improve overall performance and user experience.
When a developer shows a desire and willingness to interact with users, it goes a long way.
Community feedback on Mannix Squared plugins has been generally positive from the start, and the developer has always been quick to address reported issues and suggestions.
Opting for a ground-up rebuild, rather than a surface-level refresh before moving on to the next project, shows that Mannix Squared doesn’t want to settle for good when something could be great, which is great news for us.
The refresh and rebuild entails stripping away unnecessary weight and tightening code to reduce CPU usage, improve load times, and ensure more reliable performance across all platforms.
It also future-proofs these plugins by providing a better foundation for further updates.
All plugins are available for macOS (AU/VST3), Windows (VST3), and Linux (VST3).
The Mannix Squared website provides direct download links for each platform (a single installer for the entire bundle).
From past experience, Super Saturator has been my favourite of the bunch so far. I love the ability to saturate a specific range with the Frequency knob and how easy it is to quickly add character to any sound.
