AIR Music Technology is offering Jura Chorus as a free download until August 2nd.
Jura Chorus is the standalone chorus effect from AIR’s Jura virtual synthesizer, which is based on the classic Roland Juno-60.
The plugin normally costs $39, and it is currently discounted to $14 on Plugin Boutique, but you can get it for free directly from AIR Music Technology during this promo.
To claim the free license, you’ll need to head to the AIR promo page and enter your first name, last name, and email address. AIR notes that signing up for the free license also means you consent to their email marketing (no surprises there).
I am a huge fan of the Juno chorus sound. I still use the free TAL-Chorus-LX a lot, but it is always fun to try different takes on the same classic effect because each one seems to land a little differently.
And there are quite a few Juno-style chorus plugins to choose from at this point. Arturia has the JUN-6 Chorus, and last November we covered two freebies in the same lane, Sonic Academy’s JU-60 and schulz.audio’s JUNI 1984.
If you grabbed those while they were free, Jura Chorus is another one to add to the collection.

Jura Chorus follows the familiar Juno chorus idea; it’s basically the same module but not locked inside the synth.
You get two chorus types, Chorus I and Chorus II, with the option to use both at the same time. Chorus I is the subtler setting, while Chorus II adds more depth and width. Combining both is my favorite mode, and it gives you the bigger stereo spread and instability that many producers associate with the Juno sound.
There is also a Mix control to balance the dry and processed signals, plus a switch to add modeled noise from the original hardware. That noise option is fun if you want the effect to feel a little more like a vintage synth chorus.
This is really not a chorus plugin that you’ll spend more than a few seconds tweaking. You pick the mode, set the blend, and decide whether the noise should stay on or off.
On simple analog-style patches, a good Juno chorus can add a lot of goodness. But my favorite use for these types of plugins is outside of the synth realm. Give it a try on guitars and other acoustic instruments for some pretty cool warped chorus effects.
Jura Chorus runs on macOS 12 through 15 (Intel and Apple Silicon) and Windows 10 or 11. It is available in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats, and AIR also mentions support for Akai Professional hardware.
