AudioDeluxe is offering Solid State Logic’s SSL X-Limit limiter plugin for $10 in an exclusive deal.
SSL X-Limit normally costs $49, so the current $10 price cuts 80% off the regular price. It ends in 13 days, which means it should run until around June 30th.
If you already had X-Limit on your wishlist, I think this absolutely is a good time to pick it up. Ten bucks is about as low as I can remember seeing it, and SSL plugins won’t go below that price.
X-Limit is a visual limiter designed for tracks and buses. It gives you a waveform display where you can set the threshold and ceiling relative to the incoming signal and lets you raise the gain to increase loudness while capturing peaks.

The plugin includes SSL’s True Peak limiting algorithm to handle inter-sample peaks, with momentary and maximum True Peak readouts. From my experience, this one is not only good for pushing the level but also for keeping a closer eye on peak control when preparing stems and mixes for delivery.
X-Limit has four limiter styles. Transparent is meant for cleaner peak catching on sources like vocals and acoustic guitars, while Glue is designed for subgroups and buses that need a more unified sound. Punch is the more aggressive option for drums and other material where you want extra impact, and Auto adjusts the time constants depending on the transient content of the signal.
The Ducking and Steering meters show how the limiting process may affect the stereo image, and you get instant visual feedback as you adjust Channel Link to reduce unwanted stereo movement.
There are also several workflow features that I use a lot with this one. Gain Lock helps keep settings stable while comparing different amounts of limiting, I/O difference auditioning lets you hear what the limiter is changing, and Gain Match helps with A/B comparison.
The Mix control is useful if you want to blend some of the dry signal back in, especially when using X-Limit for punch and character rather than transparent peak control.
SSL X-Limit has native Apple Silicon support and is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats. SSL lists compatibility with major DAWs, including FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Reaper, Pro Tools, Cubase, and Studio One.
