IK Multimedia is offering Pianoverse Black Pearl B200 as a free download for users who subscribe to the IK newsletter.
The offer runs through September 1st, 2026. IK says you get Black Pearl immediately after subscribing, but you need to stay subscribed to the newsletter for 90 days to keep it forever.
Black Pearl B200 usually sells as a paid Pianoverse instrument, and we have seen it included in larger IK deals before, including the Total VI Max 2 bundle offer. Getting it for free is definitely worth checking out if you have space for another large piano library.
Black Pearl B200 is based on a 7′ Bösendorfer 214VC Vienna Concert Grand. IK recorded it at Fonoprint Studios in Bologna, Italy, using DPA cardioid microphones for close miking and DPA omni microphones at medium distance with an A-B setup.
The instrument includes 20 GB of sound content and 25 presets. It also unlocks the full Pianoverse engine, so you get the 33 generative Spaces, 12 cinematic effects, multiple microphone perspectives, and advanced piano controls for lid position, harp resonance, pedal noise, mallet noise, and more.
I know some people were put off by the size of Pianoverse, but if you have a drive you can throw the pianos on, it is well worth owning. The core piano sounds are lovely, and the more unusual Spaces are what make Pianoverse different from a regular sampled piano collection.
That said, this promotion seems to be causing some confusion for users. Some of our readers are reporting that Black Pearl appears as registered on the IK website but does not show up immediately in IK Product Manager. Others say Pianoverse only shows a Buy or Reinstall button, or that the Sounds tab does not show the Black Pearl library after the newsletter confirmation.
The official IK steps are to download and open IK Product Manager, log in to your IK account, subscribe to the newsletter, click the Reload icon in Product Manager, install and authorize Pianoverse from the Software tab, then reload again to get Black Pearl B200.
Based on reader reports, it is also worth checking that you are logged into the same IK account on the website and in Product Manager before subscribing.
If it still does not appear, check the Sounds tab in IK Product Manager rather than only the Software tab, then try reloading the manager. You can also try using a different browser while logged into both the IK website and Product Manager. If the product is registered to your account but still missing in Product Manager, contacting IK support is probably the safest next step.
The signup form may ask for an email address and phone number. Black Pearl B200 is a large download, too, and 30 GB of hard disk space required for each Pianoverse piano title.
Pianoverse Black Pearl B200 runs as a 64-bit standalone instrument and plugin for macOS and Windows. It supports AU, VST2, VST3, and AAX on macOS 10.13 or later, and VST2, VST3, and AAX on Windows 7 or later.
