DDMF has announced that the ColourEQ equalizer VST/AU plugin for Windows and Mac is now available as freeware.
DDMF says that when it was created a few years ago ColourEQ featured unique frequency response curves unavailable in other EQs. Recently, most of these curves have been integrated into DDMF’s all-round workhorse IIEQPro, and for the future DDMF wants to concentrate all efforts on the further development of their more complex products.
ColourEQ is available for free download via DDMF. His IIEQ equalizer is included in BPB’s list of the best freeware parametric equalizer plugins. I guess ColourEQ should be added to that list, too.
Unlike conventional parametric equalizers, ColourEQ has an additional curve shape control for each of the five bands. DDMF says that these special curves can’t be reproduced by ordinary IIR equalizers.
DDMF’s IIEQ Pro CM and LP10 CM equalizers (DDMF CM EQ Pack) are available for free in the July 2012 issue of Computer Music magazine.
