Pekka Kauppila has released a new version of MauSynth, featuring a fantastic new skin created by KVR Forum member gamecat666.
Ok dudes and dudettes. The version with gamecat666’s skin is available and I’m off for a well deserved pint!
MauSynth is available for free download via Pekka Kauppila’s website (simply select the preferred skin when downloading the plugin). This fantastic instrument has been included in BPB’s round-up of the best free virtual analog synthesizer VSTi plugins.
Check this one out if you’re looking for a new VA synth. I think it’s reaching my Top 5 favorite virtual analogs list (currently Tyrell N6, Charlatan, TAL-NoiseMaker, SQ8L, Synth1). A bit heavy on the CPU, but it sounds HUGE.

onThis synth easily and effortlessly competes with the best analogue emulating commercial softsynths. It is criminally overlooked and underestimated. The sound is so substantial, spacious, full, I could go on and on… Really impressive for a free synth! The more I use it the more I am amazed by its great sound engine! <3 <3 <3
