Single Mault SE - A Free Distortion Effect Released By FXpansion

FXpansion and Sweetwater have announced Single Mault SE, a freeware distortion and saturation effect for Windows and Mac.

Single Mault SE is a powerful distortion and tone-shaping plugin by FXpansion. A streamlined version of the Maul 3-band distortion plugin, Single Mault SE features 7 modelled distortion algorithms with additional tone filtering, saturation, soft-limiting and transient-shaping circuits.

Single Mault SE is available for free download via FXpansion (5.3MB download size, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU plugin format for Windows & Mac).

All registered FXpansion users can download the plugin (registration is free), however please note that the offer expires on July 31st. You will need to claim your serial number before this date in order to be able to use Single Mault SE!

The plugin is based on Maul, a commercial multi-band distortion effect by FXpansion. Single Mault SE features 7 distortion algorithms from the full product, as well as saturation and filtering capabilities.

I’ll definitely be downloading this one, being a big fan of FXpansion stuff and also their DCAM FreeComp freebie compressor. I hope that Single Mault SE will turn out to be just as great!
