Djembe is available for free download via Evolution Series (329 MB download size, 1 ZIP & 2 RAR archives, contains 380 djembe samples for NI Kontakt 5).
The download and installation is, let’s say, a little complicated. First of all, you will need a Facebook account and a working email address. Still interested? Read on!
Visit this Facebook page, hit the Like button and enter your email address. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be forwarded to a page which will contain your personal coupon code. An email containing your coupon code will also be sent to your Inbox for later use.
Now check your email. There are two different ways to download the files and I chose the so-called manual mode. Click the link to generate manual download links and enter your serial number. Check your Inbox once again. Download the three provided archives and save them in a directory on your hard drive.
Finally, download and install the Connect app (link provided in the email). Hold the Shift button on your keyboard and select the directory in which you saved the downloaded files. Hooray, the adventure is over and now you have a free djembe!
The library itself is a high quality Kontakt instrument which contains 380 djembe samples with up to 10 round robin layers and multiple velocity layers. It also comes with 4 microphone positions and a set of MIDI grooves.
Please note that you will need the full version of NI Kontakt 5 in order to use the library without any limitations. I will work for 15 minutes in the free Kontakt Player.
