Beat Magazine has announced that the UVI Mello sound library (regular price $99) for UVI Workstation will be offered as a free download until October 26th! Please note that a free iLok account is required in order to register and activate your copy of the product.
UVI Mello is a commercial sound library featuring 36 legendary Mellotron patches, with over 2000 individual samples. In addition to sampled notes, the sound library also features authentic samples of the original instrument’s mechanical noises. These can be mixed together with the note samples, creating a more realistic playing experience.

The instrument also features a 3-band equalizer for controlling the overall tone of the audio signal on the output, as well as an analog style tape delay effect and the SparkVerb reverb module. The on-board resonant filter can be paired up with a custom unison mode, in order to shape the original sound of the instrument even further.
To get your free copy of UVI Mello, visit Beat Magazine’s page linked below and the coupon code which you’ll need to enter during checkout. You’ll also need to sign up for a free UVI user account (if you don’t have one already). After you’ve completed the checkout process, your serial number and further download instructions will be delivered to you via email. After that, you’ll need to register your free copy of the product to your user account. You’ll also need to download and install the freeware UVI Workstation virtual instrument in order to use the UVI Mello sound library.
This same sound library was offered for free download last year for a limited time period (here’s our news item about that offer). However, an iLok dongle was required in order to use the product back then. This time around, you can simply use your free iLok account to register the product and there’s not need for the actual USB dongle.
