Several Interesting Freebies From Last Week!

Scoring Noise by Bela D Media.

Last week was extremely busy for me, so I haven’t managed to write in-depth news articles several very interesting freebies. To keep you dear readers up to date with the latest and greatest in the freeware world, here’s a quick overview of some stuff which I haven’t mentioned in the news section last week. Enjoy!

Fingerstyle Folk Acoustic Guitar is a forthcoming guitar loop library by insessionaudio. The full commercial version of the library will be released soon. Until then, you can download a free collection of 48 guitar loops from the full product. Please note that you’ll need to submit a working email address in order to get the download link. The loops are available in WAV and NKI formats (for NI Kontakt). Grab the free loops via insessionaudio (118 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 48 audio loops in 24-bit WAV format).

Sonus Dept has released three sound libraries for NI Kontakt and NI Massive. My favorite of the three freebies is Industry Trailer, a collection of cinematic percussion and SFX for NI Kontakt. It really sounds good and it’s definitely worth the download if you need some epic percussion for trailers, movie soundtrack projects, etc. They’ve also released a free collection of NI Massive presets called Dark Mass and a nice set of beats made with the Stylophone BeatBox. Download the goodies for free via Sonus Dept.

Sesque Music is an electronic music label specializing in deep house and techno. Their are giving away a tremendous collection of free loops and one shot samples to registered members. The registration process is completely free and all you need to do is submit an email address and choose a password. There’s no need to verify your email address. The website currently offers over 1 GB of free sounds and more audio material will be added in the future. Download the free sounds via Sesque Music (visit the Members Area after registering to grab the free goodies).

DM-307A Free Pack is a free collection of sounds from the DM-307 for Ableton commercial product by Heavyocity. The free version contains a smaller selection of percussion sounds from the full pack. Please note that the contents of the freebie pack are for evaluation purposes only (not for use in commercial projects). Download the pack for free via Heavyocity.

Scoring Noise is an interesting free sound library by Bela D Media. The library was originally released in 2008, but it is now updated with more sounds and once again offered as a free download. It features a set of ambient noises which were captured during recording sessions of various choirs and orchestras. Samples such as these are handy for adding realism to orchestral pieces made with virtual instruments, or for layering on top of other sounds. Scoring Noise is available for free download via Bela D Media (you’ll need to subscribe for the Bela D Media mailing at the bottom of the linked page – as soon as you hit the subscribe button, you’ll get the password which is used to download the free library on the Free Sounds page).

Dear BPB readers, do you enjoy reading all-in-one articles such as this one? If you’ve been reading BPB for a while, you may have noticed that my regular news items have become longer than before. The reason for this is that I’m trying to really evaluate and test the freebies before publishing them in the news section. On the other hand, this gives me less time to actually write about all the freebies which appear during a week.

If I keep writing longer articles for the main news section, I’m planning to perhaps publish an overview article such as this one every Sunday, which will feature all of the freebies which haven’t made it into the main news section that week. What do you guys think? Good idea or not?

  1. Why not doing both? I really like the contemporary news on this Blog: So short info for when a freebie is released (1 Liner is enough). Evalution info on Sundays.

And btw: Gratz to this nice Blog which I visit almost daily!

  2. I prefer grouped, a bit more shallow articles with less stuff being discussed at length for long periods of time in perpetuity. Just kidding I like all the free. Thanks man.

  3. It’s a good idea, particularly if it saves you some time.

Also, as an improvement suggestion perhaps include a content summary at the top of the page? Then busy people can see straight away if it’s worth reading further. Personally, I don’t mind going through it all but it might be helpful for others.

  4. Man. Whatever suits you. I am just greatful for your resource. It makes mondays awesome. I love to see what is out there and often it inspires me to just make some noises. Thanx a Trillion. You Rock!
