99Sounds has announced the release of Simply Space, a free sample library crafted by the Canadian EDM music producer Nigel Good. The library features a selection of synthesized pad hits and lush background noises which Nigel often uses in his own studio to add a sense of depth and movement to his EDM tracks.
The library contains 64 royalty free audio samples, whereas each sample is available in the keys of C and G. The sounds are provided in 24-bit WAV format (48 kHz stereo) and the pack also includes an additional set of instrument patches in NKI format for NI Kontakt 5. Please note that the included NKI patches will only work for 15 minutes in the free Player version of Native Instruments Kontakt. The patches come with a simple custom user interface which provides access to the low pass filter module and the ADSR envelope which controls the volume.

The main idea behind Simply Space was to provide a set of lush pad hits and background textures which could be layered underneath any given chord progression and riff. The samples are provided in the keys of C and G and they can fit any other key simply by being transposed in your DAW or sampler instrument of choice. To better describe how these awesome melodic hits are meant to be used, Nigel Good has provided a short tutorial video which is embedded below.
These sounds come with tons of reverb and they work fantastic as background elements in a mix. You can also experiment with shortening the reverb tails, or reversing the samples in your audio editor and instantly turning them into tension building sound effects and classic EDM style riser sounds.
The NKI patches which are located in the sample pack’s root folder can be transposed to any given key using the tune slider on located at the top of the Kontakt 5 instrument panel. The NKI patches located in the “Samples” folder are fully mapped across the keyboard and can be played as standard instrument patches.
