Club Voltage is a brand new freeware release from Noizefield who already brought us several interesting freebies this year. Their latest freeware instrument is a virtual analogue synthesizer in 32-bit VSTi plugin format for Windows based host applications, designed for making EDM style lead sounds, bass patches and arpeggios.
If you liked Noizefield’s previously released 4 Tune and VACS virtual instruments, you’ll probably like Club Voltage too. It’s another EDM style oriented virtual analogue synthesizer which does a pretty good job at reproducing modern lead and bass patches, mostly thanks to the great selection of wavetable waveforms which are included in the oscillators section.

Speaking of the oscillators, Club Voltage has three OSC modules with a set of standard analog waveforms and the addition of 64 wavetables. The plugin also features a white noise generator which can be shaped with a set of built-in filters and mixed with the three oscillators.
Other features include a resonant multi-mode filter, three freely assignable modulation envelopes and three LFO generators, three built-in effects (delay, chorus and bitcrusher), a parametric equalizer and a 6-slot modulation matrix. The second GUI panel also features a sequencer/arpeggiator module similar to the one included in the VACS virtual instrument which was released by Noizefield earlier this year.
So, is this one worth the download? Well, if you need a virtual instrument for creating modern EDM style sounds, it’s definitely worth a look. The factory presets are also something you might want to check out, since they cover a range of big room house and electro style sounds. Feature-wise, Club Voltage stands somewhere in between Noizefield’s two previously released synthesizers 4 Tune and VACS. I would love to see something different in Noizefield’s future releases, perhaps an FM synthesizer or a multi-effects unit. The world hardly needs a new virtual analogue synthesizer every month (and that’s coming from a huge VA geek!).

The plugin was made with SynthMaker, so it will only work in 32-bit Windows hosts. According to the info provided by the developer, the plugin can be used in 64-bit Windows with jBridge.
