Hello Samples has released SUB37 Analog Synth, a free sound library containing almost 2 GB of royalty free Moog SUB 37 samples in WAV format (with additional Ableton Live and NI Maschine presets).
The library is based on a set of Moog SUB 37 patches that Hello Samples released a while ago. Since not a lot of people own the actual synthesizer (which was actually reviewed on BPB not long ago, link below), the generous people at Hello Samples decided to convert those patches into audio samples and release them as a freely downloadable sound library.
SUB37 Analog Synth contains a wide variety of different sounds, ranging from classic synth basses and leads to some pretty cool electronic drums, percussion sounds and sound effects. Ableton Live and Native Instruments Maschine users can simply drop these sounds in their samplers of choice and get instant access to dozens of drum kit presets and multi-sampled analog synth patches.

The download is available in two versions, one for Ableton Live users (ALP file) and one for NI Maschine users (ZIP file). The NI Maschine version of the download contains the WAV files which can be used in pretty much any sampler instrument and digital audio workstation on the market. If you’re looking for a freeware sampler to load these WAVs, I highly recommend the excellent Grace by One Small Clue.
The download speed was very slow when I tried the download for the first time (it stayed below 50 KB/s which meant that the entire process would take several hours), but things improved quite a bit when I restarted the download in a standalone download manager (I use an older version of FDM). Either way, the library is definitely worth the download if you’d like to add some juicy Moog sounds to your sample arsenal. It would have been even better had Hello Samples included SFZ patches in the download, but then again it’s good enough that we can download the actual WAV files.
