Soundtoys have announced that they are giving away the Tremolator analog guitar tremolo effect as a completely free download from their website until November 30th. The company has also launched the annual Black Friday sale, offering a 50% discount on a range of products in their online store.
Tremolator is normally priced at $129, however it can now be download (or added to your Soundtoys account for later use) completely free of charge, only until November 30th. You will also need an iLok account in order to activate the plugin on your computer, however the actual iLok dongle (the USB key) is not required. Instead, you can use the iLok License Manager software, which is a free tool.
In terms of functionality, Tremolator is capable of delivering anything from vintage style tremolo effects found in classic guitar amps, to modern MIDI-synced rhythmic effects. The plugin features a lovely vintage looking user interface which can be expanded to display the advanced rhythmic controls. One of Tremolator’s coolest features is the custom LFO editor which allows the user to draw any custom shape to be used as the LFO source. Soundtoys have included a selection of custom LFO shapes which are modeled after the waveforms created by some of their favorite hardware tremolo effects.
However, the Shape Editor also makes it possible to create rhythmic “trance gate” style effects, or even shuffled grooves using the provided Groove Editor. The plugin can be locked to the host application’s BPM value, or run in free tempo mode.
To download your free copy of Tremolator, visit the product page linked below and complete the free checkout process. As already mentioned, you will also need an iLok user account in order to register and activate your free copy of Tremolator. You can register a free iLok user account here.
Tremolator is available for free download via Soundtoys until November 30th (32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU/AAX plugin format for Windows & Mac OS).
