The Review

Warehouse Tech ($19.90) contains around 450 MB worth of sample and loop content, all neatly categorized into folders for easy browsing. The samples and loops are provided as 24-bit WAV files, whereas the drum hits also include sampler patches for NI Maschine 2, NI Kontakt, NI Battery 4, Kong Drum Designer, NN-XT, EXS24, and Ableton Live. The library can also be downloaded in RX2 and Apple Loops formats. What’s particularly neat, though, is that Sample Magic is offering individual parts of the library for purchase separately. This means that you can grab the drum loops (164 loops in total) for just $5.90, or the drum hits (80 drum samples in total) for just $4.50.

As for the full version of Warehouse Tech, the sample content spans across 522 individual loops and samples, covering bass lines, drum loops, drum hits, sound effects, arpeggios, percussion loops, and background atmospheres. The loops are labeled with BPM info, whereas the one-shot samples have the root note marked in the file name. The drum loops are offered as full mixes and individual stems for each drum element (bass drum, snare, hats, etc.). This means that elements of different drum loops can be mixed and matched together to build new grooves. It’s also worth noting that certain loop categories, such as the synth and arpeggio loops, also include MIDI sequences which can come in handy if you like a particular loop but would prefer to modify it with a different timbre.

The sound quality is what one would expect to hear in a top-tier EDM sound library. The loops and drum hits are mix-ready, meaning that you can simply drop them into your project and concentrate on music making instead of mixing. The style leans towards the darker variety of techno, with elements of dub techno and a bit of the classic Detroit techno vibe.

For the asking price of $19.90, is a great addition to any techno producer’s sound kit. It provides a very well-crafted set of audio samples and loops, neatly organized and ready to use without any additional mixing required.
