Mercuriall has announced the release of Chorus WS-1, a freeware chorus guitar pedal effect in VST, AU, and AAX plugin formats for compatible host applications on PC and Mac.
Chorus WS-1 is a stompbox-style chorus effect with adjustable modulation speed and depth. The user can also control the mix level and set the processing to mono or stereo. Stereo processing will only work with a stereo audio source. The bypass switch at the bottom of the user interface is used to turn the processing off completely if required.

It can be used to add depth and body to guitar tracks, but it will also work very well with various kinds of synth parts like leads and pads. The modulation depth and speed controls provide enough versatility to cover various effect flavors, from lush and subtle to heavily modulated chorusing. The CPU usage is very low, which is great if you’re planning to use multiple instances of the plugin in a single project.
