UnitedPlugins is offering FireMaximizer for free until October 18, 2026, as part of a collaboration with the Japanese シユウの作曲・DTM講座 channel.

FireMaximizer is a mastering loudness processor by FireSonic that combines four algorithms. Instead of choosing only one, you move a node around an XY pad to blend clipping, saturation, brickwall limiting, and multiband limiting in any proportion.
Those four algos make it quite a bit more flexible than a standard maximizer. Moving toward Clipping creates a more aggressive sound suitable for drums, hip-hop, metal, or electronic music. Saturation adds a warmer type of density, while Limiting prioritizes cleaner peak control.
The Multiband Limiter processes separate frequency ranges independently. It can squeeze out more loudness and flatten an uneven spectrum more naturally, although, as with any maximizer, it is worth watching how much life you remove from the mix.
Drive determines how hard the signal hits the processing, and Ceiling sets the final output level. The developer recommends leaving some headroom in the ceiling for inter-sample peaks and using oversampling, which can be as high as 16x.
Clean reduces distortion from the two limiting algorithms at the cost of some loudness, but does not affect clipping or saturation. Look-ahead can further reduce limiter distortion by letting the plugin anticipate peaks, at the cost of increased latency.
Although FireMaximizer is designed primarily for a master bus, the different characters also make sense on drums, guitars, vocals, and other individual tracks. The interface is resizable and includes presets, undo and redo, two A/B states with a Copy button, plus intelligent sleep when no audio is passing through.
To claim the free license, you need a UnitedPlugins account and must complete the checkout before October 18. UnitedPlugins Manager handles installation, updates, and activation.
There is no iLok or hardware dongle, and offline activation is available by downloading the license file from your account and dragging it into the plugin.
FireMaximizer is available in 64-bit VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats. UnitedPlugins officially supports Windows 10/11 and macOS 10.14 or newer, including Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
