Mix Challenge has launched Mix Challenge #44, inviting all interested music producers and mixing engineers to join the contest for free (and potentially win a bunch of great music-making software).
So, what is the Mix Challenge? The idea behind the contest is to provide a professionally recorded multi-track song which the participants will then mix according to their preference and skills. Once the entries are in, the song provider (usually an independent artist) will provide mix feedback, leading to the second round of the contest. After the mixes are re-submitted following the artist’s advice, the artist will choose the winning entry. Entering the contest is a great way to put your mixing skills to the test and to experience, to an extent, the dynamics of working on a professional mixing project.

But that’s not all. The winner will also receive a terrific little bundle of music production software provided by the likes of Black Rooster Audio, MuTools, Acon Digital, Hornet Plugins, Metric Halo, and others. So, if you’re looking to improve your mixing skills but don’t have any practice material available, why not join the Mix Challenge? Who knows, you might end up winning a cool set of goodies for your studio.
To join the contest, make sure to register on the Mix Challenge forum (linked below) and read the rules. Once your mix is ready, simply post it in the corresponding forum thread.
