SampleScience Releases Free Synthetic Vortices VST/AU Plugin

1

SampleScience has released Synthetic Vortices, a freeware sample-based virtual instrument in VST, VST3, and AU plugin formats for digital audio workstation software on PC and Mac.

Synthetic Vortices is a free cinematic virtual instrument based on a collection of ambient loops. The loops were made with the Ensoniq Fizmo hardware synthesizer, a hardware instrument that used the unique Transwave technology to create unusually organic digital sounds. The instrument is best known for its excellent arpeggiator module and the unique synthesis engine that was perfect for creating complex evolving pads.

SampleScience created a range of atmospheric sounds with the Ensoniq Fizmo synthesizer and converted them into seamless loops. These loops are used as the sound source for the Synthetic Vortices plugin. The included sounds can be further shaped with a multi-mode filter, a reverb effect, an ADSR envelope, and a multi-mode LFO. The users can choose between three playback modes: polyphonic, monophonic, and legato. The instrument features 188 MB of sample data in 16-bit WAV format.

If you’re a fan of ambient and lo-fi sounds, be sure to check out the other offerings on the SampleScience website. There are tons of interesting plugins and sample libraries to check out, both free and paid. Bedroom Producers Blog and SampleScience recently collaborated to create the GB DrumBox plugin, which is also freeware.

Synthetic Vortices plugin is available for free download via SampleScience. The product can be downloaded completely free of charge from the developer’s website, no registration required. The instrument is a 183 MB download, packed in a ZIP archive.
