Waves OneKnob Louder Is Free Until October 30th

10

Waves and W. A. Production are offering the OneKnob Louder ($49 value) loudness booster plugin as a free download until October 30th, 2020.

Waves OneKnob Louder is a single-knob audio effect for boosting the loudness of an audio track. It does so by using a combination of limiting and dynamic range compression with auto-gain. In other words, the macro knob compresses the incoming signal while adding gain at the same time.

Regular readers here at BPB probably already own a free copy of OneKnob Louder because we covered a similar deal a few months ago.

OneKnob Louder was already offered as a free download back in June this year. However, if you missed that offer, here’s your second chance to add OneKnob Louder to your music production software arsenal.

The plugin adds up to 24 dB of gain boost. You can use it on individual audio tracks or on the master channel to apply a volume boost to the entire mix.

Just claimed this freebie and it is of course version 12, which was only just introduced. Whereas the previous claim is at version 11

    • that’s just the waves update plan, a system devised by waves with sole purpose of milking every last cent they can from their user.

      don’t worry about it

      • Well, waves sells their plugin way cheaper than other companies fabfilter, etc. With bundles, you can work with many different plugins and try many presets. I tweak the presets for my taste and I really love using them. they somehow inspire me. it is how I work.

I don’t like the update plan. Who likes paying money for stuff you bought before.

But 1-I didn’t even update them once. V10 or V9 versions still work well with Reaper.

2-Maximum fee for update plan capped at 250$ and instead of paying for this, I Can update my platinum bundle to a higher version and pay 80$. get new plugins and update at the same time.

3-if you are a musician, and if you are making money with those plugins, even if you don’t make money but use them with enjoyment, then i believe that it’s a pretty good deal. and if i were rich, i would prefer owning their biggest bundle and pay 250$ every year for working with those plugins. still they give me more options than fabfilter or paying too much for UAD plugins.

I didn’t try UAD plugins. maybe they are better. but anyway my point here was to show that waves isnt the most expensive, but one of the cheapest option in the market. and as i know, with izotope plugins for example. if you have ozone xx, when ozone xx+1 released you need to pay again to update your version. and izotope plugins are way more expensive than waves

you are a windows user i assume? For mac users theres an extra layer of crappyness, as the OS updates require updated plugins. Also, if you wait for sales there are plenty of plugins as good (or better) than waves for around the same price – and you own them forever.

      • In case of OneKnob Louder it’s $12.

So yes, if you don’t have the chargeable Update Plan, you want to get this a second time for free to use it with the V12 shell.

  3. Thanks very much again Tomislav & BPB & also Maksim, K. Kurgle, Numanoid, Ariel, and others
    Respect 👍

I downloaded this Waves One Knob Louder plug-in & it came as V12.
After installation i had no GUI for the plug-in (although it still worked).
I found out that Waves V12 only support Mac’s with a “metal GPU” (i have an older Mac / non metal GPU).
I read the Waves support page & followed their simple instructions & all is perfect now.

    https://www.waves.com/support/how-to-solve-blank-gui-issues-on-older-macs

    If you get a V12 plug-in & license, you can roll back to a V11 plug-in (if that plug-in exists in V11) .

All i had to do was to launch Waves Central App, go to the settings / maintenance tab & uninstall V12 plug-ins, then back to the my product tab & show only V11 plug-ins & apps, then just install only V11 plug-in.

I hope this helps somebody else who has this issue as well, the correct procedure is in in the Waves link 👍

  4. Everytime that I register a new Plugin in my Waves account and Try to install it, the proccess fails. In fact there’s no error Message, but when I try to install appears syncing and just after it shows “install completed”. But the proccess is very fast, and the Plugin doens’t install. Any tip? Thank you
