HALO Lite is the entry-level version of HALO, the debut plugin from DHPlugins.

HALO Lite is a hybrid synth/sampler/rompler. It comes with 47 factory presets and eighteen sample banks. The full version of HALO, which has an introductory price of £59 at DHPlugins (usually £100), has over 360 presets and over 300 sample banks.
The developers created the sample banks using a selection of hardware and software synths, FX, and processors. Combining the sample banks with HALO Lite’s built-in synths, filters, modulators, and FX provides seemingly limitless possibilities.
Presets consist of a Sample, Sub, and Synth layer, and an intuitive preset manager makes it easy to find the right kind of sound. You can search presets by type (Lead, Bass, Pad, and so on), tags, or name.
One of the cool things about HALO Lite is that you can switch sample banks within a preset. So, before you start to fine-tune the sound, you can alter its character while leaving the parameters of the preset intact. It’s also handy if you’ve set your own custom filters/distortion/FX combination and just fancy hearing how the settings sound with different sample banks. You can also change sample banks randomly, which often throws up hidden gems.
HALO Lite features various modulators, three distortion modes, four filters, a sub/dual oscillator synth, a custom waveshaper, step sequence modulation, and more.
At $25, it seems like a bit of a powerhouse; if you can grab it for free, it’s even better.
The GUI is divided into panels that are clear and easy to follow. The center window will display additional corresponding controls when you click on a panel. It seems like something that would be fast to work with and throws up some complex sounds; it looks interesting to me.
