Get The Nanopulse Transient Shaper Plugin For $20 @ W.A. Production

W.A Production offers a massive discount on the Nanopulse transient shaper plugin by United Plugins.

Nanopulse is a new transient shaper plugin from United Plugins/JMG Sound, with a typical retail price of $84. For a limited time (you should have around one week from the time of writing this), you can buy it for just $20.

The first thing that stood out about Nanopulse is that the GUI reminded me of a menu screen from an old Sega Mega Drive video game. Irrelevant nostalgia aside, the interface looks pretty good, in my opinion.

There are two main sections, the first of which is the Enhancer section. The Enhancer is where you can choose from over 60 attack profiles to find a perfect match for your sound. You can also do some fine-tuning with Pitch and Tone controls. Once you have the ideal attack profile, you can blend the Enhanced Transient with the Original Transient to find the perfect balance.

Nanopulse is a multi-band transient shaper, so the next step is the Shaper section, where you can tackle dynamics in the Low, Mid, and High-frequency ranges. The Shaper section has controls that allow you to adjust the Attack and Sustain in each frequency range.

If you aren’t getting the punch you want, Nanopulse has a relatively long list of presets to help get you on the right track.

Nanopulse features three transient detection modes; Smart, Spectral, and Fast. Each mode offers potential benefits, depending on your audio.

It also features a high-quality limiter on the output that can act as a safety feature.

I think the Enhancer section is so straightforward that you should always be able to find the perfect balance. In terms of listener reaction, there’s a big difference between cutting through the mix and being completely obnoxious. But, in the mixing process, there’s often a much finer line between those two possible outcomes, especially in longer sessions when your ears need a break.

Nanopulse looks like a good way to ensure you make sensible decisions in transient shaping and get the punchy sound you want without going too far.

SpikeQ by Low Wave Studios is another free transient shaper we featured last year.

Nanopulse is available in 64-bit AU, VST, and AAX formats for macOS (10.10 upwards) and Windows (8 upwards).

Compatible with ProTools 11 or higher.

On a related note, W.A. Production currently offers the Free Anniversary Collection Vol. 8 sound library with over 3 GB of royalty-free sounds.
