Studio Box is a trio of these instruments packaged together for the low price of $49.99 for a limited time. Users get an eclectic mix of instruments that are ready to be placed in a variety of productions.
The first instrument, Stacks, is a dusty collection of instruments that would fit well in neo-soul, boom-bap, and lo-fi hip-hop with aplomb. Producers can delight in crunchy leads, warbly keys, warm live bass, strings, and a plethora of vintage synths. Controls are kept to a minimum, but this is a sound set full of character.
Soul Sessions calls upon similar influences but embodies the modern spirit of soul music. Warm live instruments like horns, basses, keys, and organs all come to coalesce to create something suited for takes on R&B and soul, no matter the era you’re seeking to emulate. The sound set was created in conjunction with MSXII, who are no strangers to capturing that effortlessly silky vibe.
Hitmaker Keys rounds out the instrument collection and encompasses more than just pianos. Users get access to 150 presets covering pianos, organs, pads, and leads. This is less a genre-specific collection and one more meant for general production purposes.
Studio Box instrument bundle isn’t intended to get down in the dirt in terms of sound creation, but there is a degree of flexibility provided by each. Users can blend the sound sources to create their own take on the instruments. There are enough controls present to shape and mold things to take these instruments and make them something that is entirely your own.
