NI Monark is FREE with any purchase until November 7th

November 5, 2024By Stephen Charlton34 Comments
FREE Native Instruments Monark

Plugin Boutique is offering another freebie with any purchase. Until November 7, 2024, you can choose between the Native Instruments Monark virtual synth ($99) or the Mastering the Mix Advanced Mastering Course (currently $38).

I have to say, the Monark certainly stands out among the two offers from Plugin Boutique. The instrument is a virtual monophonic synth for macOS and Windows.

Native Instruments describes the instrument as a faithful replication of an analog synth, which can run on either the free Reaktor Player or the full version of Reaktor.

The developer is a little coy about exactly what hardware synth the Monark meant to emulate, but it’s safe to say it’s focused on replicating Moog’s Minimoog Model D.

Quite a few developers have tried their hand at replicating the iconic Minimoog Model D, which was released as the world’s first portable synth in 1970.

There are user demos on YouTube that A/B the Monark with the Model D, and also with other Model D emulations.

Opinions vary wildly on which release does the best emulation, but the Monark certainly holds its own and, to my ears, sounds pretty damn close to the original.

Native Instruments certainly went all out on their efforts to meticulously replicate the sound of the synth, and you can get the full scoop on that on the product page.

The product page also hosts 15 audio demos if you’d like to get a feel for how the instrument sounds in different contexts.

The Monark is all about delivering mono basses and leads with an analog sound.

Here's a closer look at Native Instruments Monark.

The synth has 383 sounds, which are packed into a 29.4 download size.

Beyond its core function as a complete instrument, you can also use the Monark oscillator, filter, and envelope as Reaktor modules to create your own custom synths in a rack-style modular setup.

Together with other Reaktor blocks, this opens up a whole range of sonic possibilities.

The Monark has been around for a while now, as the synth first dropped back in August 2014.

The giveaway page linked below explains how to claim your November freebie on Plugin Boutique.

Once you’ve chosen a purchase to qualify for the offer, then claiming the freebie is a pretty straightforward process that you complete during checkout, where you’ll choose one of the two gifts.
