Baby Audio is back with another freebie, and this one, Warp, comes from the outstanding Transit 2 transition designer and multi-FX plugin.
Baby Audio has delivered some awesome freebies, like Pitch Drift, Magic Dice, and Magic Switch, over the years.
The popular developer is also known to discount premium plugins like TAIP, Super VHS, and one of my favorite little synths, BA-1 (Yamaha CS01 emulation), so keep an eye out for sales.
One of the things that all Baby Audio freebies have in common is that they are small and simple but deliver significant impact.
Warp comes from the best-selling Transit 2 plugin, Baby Audio’s collaboration with musician, producer, and YouTuber Andrew Huang.

Transit 2 has 28 effect modules, and the Warp module is a favorite of many sound designers and producers.
The Warp module has just three controls: Speed, Stretch, and Mix.
Warp boasts artifact-free vari-speed control, allowing you to speed up or slow down audio.

The ability to alter the audio speed might not be instantly exciting, but the ability to do so with the pristine clarity of Warp should be appealing.
Baby Audio’s algorithm allows users to adjust the speed without the common artifacts or side effects you might experience elsewhere.
Beyond the impressive clarity, Warp offers the ability to adjust time and pitch independently. This independence means we can create unusual or contrasting effects, like raising the pitch while slowing down the audio.
Although we can adjust these elements independently, the Stretch control doesn’t function unless you alter the Speed parameter to any extent, so it’s not an entirely independent pitch shift control.
If you set the Stretch knob to 50%, you can retain the pitch while freely adjusting the speed.
Warp is available in AU, VST, and AAX formats for macOS and Windows. You can download an iOS version from the App Store.
Baby Audio plugins are great, which is a pretty sweeping statement, but it’s rare to hear any seriously negative comments about them. So, if there’s a Baby Audio plugin going free, it’s a no-brainer!
