The code works with any of MajorDecibel’s plugins, except Mastering Studio Rx.
That means you can score one of the following plugins for free: Dynamics ($19), Equalizer ($19), Spatializer ($19), Limiter ($19), and the most exciting of all, Notes ($6).
The freebie promo is limited to one free plugin per customer.
I tried out the coupon code myself just now on Equalizer, and it does indeed work.
The giveaway is available for a limited time, but I don’t have any intel on exactly when the coupon code expires.
To snap up your freebie, add your desired plugin to the MajorDecibel cart and enter the coupon code ‘FREEPLUGIN’ on the cart page.
After you apply the coupon and proceed to the checkout page, you’ll be prompted to fill in all the details that you’d usually need for a physical order.
I attempted to fill out the form with a temporary email address, which it refused to acknowledge. After that, I tried a Gmail address, which allowed me to complete the form.
You can then download the macOS and Windows install zips from the public product page of the plugin, which come in at 8.5 MB and 3 MB, respectively.
MajorDecibel is a Canadian audio tech developer founded by Adam Love, who completed BESc and MESc degrees in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Audio DSP from the University of Western Ontario.
The company debuted in 2016 with its online audio mastering service, and it has since branched out into a portfolio of plugins.
Except for Mastering Studio Rx, MajorDecibel’s entire plugin lineup has a no-frills design philosophy.
This can be seen at a glance of the plugins, as most have only three main knobs to work with.
Although the plugins are simple, they all have features that make them stand out from the pack. One example is Equalizer’s Sub-Bass enhancement knob, which together with the configurable target frequency, is made to produce a warm, punchy subsonic sound.
