Sick Noise Instruments has released NoizeBreaker, a sci-fi-inspired SFX library for Kontakt (full version required), and it’s available for FREE for a limited time via Pluginomat.
NoizeBreaker is packed with over 200 futuristic sound effects designed for trailers, video games, and various electronic music genres (although mainly Datsik-style dubstep comes to mind for sounds like these).
It includes a large selection of robotic footsteps, glitchy impacts, and all manner of cinematic-inspired chaos. If you’re working on high-energy electronic music or anything that leans into this style of cinematic audio, the library is definitely a fun one to throw into your workflow.
NoizeBreaker is laid out in a simple but convenient Kontakt interface, with controls for pitch, pan, ADSR, and filters. The design is a bit over the top, but it’s fun to look at and doesn’t really get in the way.
You can also shape the sounds further using the built-in LFOs, unison controls, and a nice range of effects, including reverb, delay, phaser, flanger, and distortion. Each of these has multiple parameters, so you can get quite deep if you want to.
I wouldn’t call these the most advanced or detailed cinematic SFX out there (shameless plug, get the free cinematic pack from Flame Sound), but I’ve been having a lot of fun testing this instrument.
Sometimes, the more polished trailer sound libraries are just too big and too “film score” for what you typically need in an electro track. NoizeBreaker, on the other hand, is straightforward and quick to use, which makes it great for adding gritty robotic sounds or strange transitions to a psytrance build or a dubstep drop.
Categories include drones, glitches, downers, robotic footsteps, shut-downs, signals, and weapons. There are over 200 individual sounds to play around with.
The interface doesn’t go super deep, but you can quickly tweak sounds to taste and get back to making music. That’s exactly the kind of utility I like in an instrument that’s supposed to be fun to use and not slow down the creative process.
NoizeBreaker is compatible with both macOS and Windows but requires the full version of Kontakt 5.8.1 or newer. Unfortunately, it will not run in the free Kontakt Player.
