We previously covered Raccoon Audio’s free OctoWah Stew and the commercial EchoSnack Delay, and ManTube Fuzz follows the same visual direction with another unique-looking pixel art interface.
It looks nice and crisp, and that is a nice touch if you are a pixel art fan like me. I like this look, and it gives the plugins a bit of personality without getting in the way.
ManTube Fuzz is built for delivering fuzz pedal-style tones in the DAW, with enough tone-shaping to make those sounds sit properly in a mix. It combines several fuzz pedals, speaker flavors, and cleanup tools into a single plugin.
It comes with three fuzz engines called Electrified, Supercharged, and Overloaded. Electrified is the smoother option, Supercharged moves toward a more mid-forward overdrive bite, and Overloaded goes into rougher fuzz territory.
Instead of switching between the three engines as fixed modes, the Infinity control blends between them. That lets you find a sweet spot between smoother drive and broken-up fuzz without combining multiple different plugins.
The tone controls are split before and after the fuzz stage. Tilt shapes the signal before it hits the fuzz engines and lets you make the source thicker or brighter. After the fuzz, high-pass and low-pass filters help trim low-end mud and top-end fizz, which is especially useful on bass, synths, and drums.
There is also a built-in speaker simulation with Off, Bright, Dark, and Boxy modes. This can help DI guitar and bass parts feel more finished without adding a separate cabinet plugin, although you can switch it off and use your own cab chain.
The Mix control is also useful because parallel fuzz often works better than fully replacing the dry sound. On bass and drums, in particular, it can add texture while letting you keep some of the original punch intact.

ManTube Fuzz is available in AU, VST3, and AAX formats for macOS 10.13 or newer, with Intel and Apple Silicon support. The Windows version runs as VST3 and AAX on Windows 10 or newer.
