Fine Classics Plugins is offering Fine Classics Saturator as a free download again for a limited time.
We featured Fine Classics Saturator on BPB last year when it was also available for free, so this is a nice second chance for anyone who missed it.
To claim the plugin this time, enter your name and email address on the product page, and Fine Classics will send the download to your inbox.
The developer notes that by signing up, you agree to receive marketing emails, although you can unsubscribe later. Also, check the Promotions tab if you use Gmail or a similar email provider, because those delivery emails love to hide there.
Fine Classics Saturator combines seven saturation algorithms with tone shaping, a built-in transient shaper, presets, and a mix control to blend the processed signal with the dry signal.

I still use our free BPB Saturator Plus religiously, especially when I want quick tube-, tape-, or diode-style color without overthinking. But with saturation plugins, it is nice to have options, because they can react very differently to drums, bass, vocals, or synths.
Fine Classics Saturator is cool because the transient shaper sits alongside the saturation section. You can add harmonic weight and then adjust the attack and sustain to keep the sound punchy, or push the saturation harder and use the mix knob for parallel crunch.
In my experience, it is a good fit for drum buses. You can use the Attack control to bring back some impact after adding drive, shape the decay with Sustain, and then blend the processed signal underneath the clean drums so the groove stays punchy.
The Tone control works like a tilt-style EQ, as it lets you make the character brighter or darker without using a full EQ section. It can brighten drums and guitars in one smooth move without making them feel too sharp.
The seven saturation algorithms cover everything from lighter warmth to heavier distortion. Fine Classics Saturator also includes presets, so you can quickly audition starting points for drums, bass, vocals, guitars, or more extreme lo-fi effects.
Fine Classics Saturator is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU plugin formats.
