noshigeSound is offering noshige76, a new FET-style compressor plugin for macOS and Windows, as a free download until August 19th, 2026.
The plugin launched on August 5th, and the free offer runs through the end of August 19th UTC. During that window, anyone with a free noshigeSound account can claim a perpetual noshige76 license for $0. The good news is that a card is not required, and the license never expires.
After August 19th, noshige76 returns to its $29 launch price. The regular perpetual price listed on the product page is $158, so this is the one to grab while the free window is open.
We recently covered noshigeSound’s free ENHANCER VINTAGE-73, a one-knob 1073-style enhancer. noshige76 continues the same idea of making vintage-style hardware coloration available in a lightweight native plugin, but this time the target is a classic 1176-style FET compressor.
Souta Tano, the developer behind noshigeSound, clarified that this is not a plugin built by “vibe coding” or quickly generated AI code. The plugin contains an actual trained AI model that processes the incoming audio.
It’s an interesting concept, and reminds me of the so-called dynamic impulse responses used by Acustica Audio to recreate the sound of analog hardware, but with an AI twist.
According to Souta, noshige76 was trained on a real vintage unit across the full control range, so Input, Output, Attack, Release, and Ratio are modeled as a system rather than captured as a single static snapshot. The product page also includes null-test results, with the residual sitting 33 to 39 dB below the real hardware signal, or around -37 dB on average.
noshige76 includes PRO and LITE modes. PRO uses the full-size AI model for the closest match to the hardware, while LITE trades a little accuracy for roughly one-fifth of the CPU load. The plugin runs internally at 96 kHz / 32-bit float.
One detail to note is that stereo processing is dual-mono, with no stereo link. On stereo material, each channel gets its own gain reduction, so a loud transient on one side will not pull down the other.
noshigeSound is also launching two paid plugins. noshige2A is an LA-2A-style optical leveler, also modeled with the same AI parametric approach, while Twin-GTR is a guitar amp signal-chain plugin. Both are currently listed at $29 as part of the launch pricing.

noshige76 is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats for macOS 10.13 or higher (Universal) and Windows 10 or higher. A license covers one user on up to three machines.
