fedDSP has released RAIJU, a zero-latency saturator plugin for macOS and Windows, and you can get it for free until August 20th, 2026.
RAIJU normally costs £30, but the developer is offering it for free as an introductory deal until August 20th at 9 PM UK time. After that, it moves to its regular price.
We have covered quite a few fedDSP releases recently, starting with the free ELEGANTE overdrive and continuing with MORSO, SNAPPER, and the frequency-focused SHI saturator. The developer also brought those pedals into the larger fedZEP amp plugin, which we featured in April.
RAIJU follows the same compact pedal-style direction that I really love. That said, it is built as a more flexible mix tool than just a guitar overdrive.
The basic front panel gives you Dist, Tone, Level, Bark, and a switch between Modern and Vintage modes.
Modern mode is designed for a more aggressive response, especially when rhythm guitars need focus and speed. Vintage mode goes for a fuller response with more body and grind.
The main idea here is to tighten the low end, push the midrange forward, and add bite with a single plugin. Dist controls how hard the signal hits the overdrive stage, Tone shapes the color of the driven sound, and Bark adds upper-mid bite when you need a source to sit more forward.
On guitars, RAIJU can sit in front of an amp or push a DI harder. In a mix, fedDSP suggests using it on bass, overheads, rooms, vocals, synths, loops, and samples when a sound needs more edge.
The extra controls include high-pass and low-pass filters that can sit before or after the pedal stage, parallel blend, polarity flip, delay alignment, and stereo or dual-mono operation. There is also a final limiter with Safe and Aggro modes, depending on whether you want cleaner control or more aggressive peak handling.
Like the other fedDSP plugins, RAIJU is designed for zero-latency operation and low CPU usage, so it should be suitable for tracking and high instance counts in larger sessions. Licensing is offline-ready after installation, with no iLok or dongle required, and each license includes up to three simultaneous activations.
RAIJU is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats for macOS, and VST3 and AAX formats for Windows. It supports macOS 10.13 or higher on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, plus 64-bit Windows 10 and 11.
