Elegante is a new plugin by FedDSP, and you can grab it for free for a limited time.
The plugin usually costs £30, but the developer has reduced the price to £ 0 for anyone who downloads it before March 10, 2026.
We’re already getting close to that cut-off date, so grab it fast.
FedDSP designed Elegante for creative tone shaping, and although it will instinctively appeal most to guitarists, it’s great with various sources (as is true of most good guitar pedals).
The GUI has the typical stompbox styling, and Elegante offers classic TS-style saturation.
We’ve seen a few overdrive plugins that offer a free alternative to forking out for something like the Ibanez TS-808 over the years, like Nembrini Audio’s NA-808 emulation.
But if you’re a fan of that classic tube screamer mid-forward character with a tight low-end and detailed highs, you should grab this freebie while you can.
The tube screamer sound is a constant theme in blues-rock music, with guitarists like John Mayer and Gary Moore regularly showcasing it.
The great thing about the TS sound is that it’s versatile; if you want the creamy, almost singing character for blues solos, it’s perfect.
It’s also an ideal way to tidy up rhythm guitar parts, ensuring they sound tight, avoiding mudiness, and enhancing important details that often get lost in a mix.
Like the W.A. Production’s Zqueezer (which is free until March 8, 2026), you can use Elegante on a range of sources to help them translate better across various playback devices.
For example, if you have a bass or 808 that’s getting a little lost on certain speakers, Elegante can give it the push it needs to cut through.
It’s not just about giving an element presence; you can give drums, bass, even vocals, more attitude and bite without drastically changing the intended character.
Of course, like any overdrive, you can also push harder and take the character somewhere else.
As a keyboardist, I really love effects/pedals like this on synths, particularly on rhythmic poly synth comping, so you get that partial break-up when you dig in, as you would with a guitar.
Elegante comes in AU, VST3, and AAX formats for macOS (10.13 or later) and Windows (10-11), and you can authorize the plugin offline.
