Gospel Musicians has released Gospel Drummer, a virtual acoustic drum instrument for gospel, contemporary worship, R&B, neo-soul, and urban music production.
The instrument focuses on the kind of expressive playing associated with modern gospel drumming: tight kicks, musical snares, warm cymbals, lively ghost notes, energetic fills, and a strong room sound.

Gospel Drummer includes two sampled acoustic gospel drum kits with 10 velocity layers and three round robins for more natural variation. It comes with a 6 GB source library delivered as roughly 1 GB of lossless-compressed content.
You also get a large MIDI groove library with variations, fills, and smart groove switching. The included MIDI can be dragged into your DAW for editing, and you can also import your own MIDI performances into Gospel Drummer.
The mixing side is fairly flexible. Gospel Drummer has independent controls for the main drum sounds, overhead mics, and room mics, and you can route direct drums, overheads, and room channels to separate mono or stereo DAW outputs.
There are also built-in sound-shaping tools for amp-style control, analog filtering, play modes, stereo spread, and effects. Gospel Musicians also lets you load compatible third-party audio effects inside the integrated iFX Rack, which is useful if you want to add your own compression, EQ, saturation, reverb, or delay inside the instrument.

The live-performance side is covered by MIDI CC and Program Change controls for presets and groove playback, so Gospel Drummer can be used to build and navigate set lists on stage. It runs as a plugin or standalone instrument.
Gospel Drummer is priced at $149.99, with a launch price of $75.00 (50% off the regular price). A separate iOS edition is available through the Apple App Store.
Gospel Drummer supports macOS 10.12 or later and Windows 10 or later, with native Apple Silicon support included. It runs in VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone formats, requires internet activation, and does not use iLok.
