Safari Audio and UJAM have teamed up to give Time Machine away for free to UJAM users for a limited time.
The vintage character plugin normally costs $49, and Safari Audio has not published an expiry date for the collaboration offer, so it is probably best to claim it sooner rather than later.
Visit the dedicated giveaway page and click Get Time Machine Free. The site adds the plugin to your cart and automatically applies the code UJAM100, reducing the total to $0.
No payment is required, and signing into a Safari Audio account is optional. However, the checkout still asks for your email address and billing address. The email marketing box was enabled by default when I checked, so deselect it if you do not want to receive Safari Audio offers.
Time Machine is a quick vintage color effect built around four era buttons: 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Each mode combines its own filtering, saturation, compression, and a recorded lo-fi noise layer to give the source a different period-inspired character.
It is definitely more of a fast vibe box than some sort of detailed console or tape-machine emulation. Instead of constructing a longer effect chain, you can select an era and adjust a handful of controls until the sound sits where you want it.
Input simultaneously increases saturation and changes the compressor threshold, while Comp determines how much of that era’s compression is applied. Output provides level trimming, and Auto Gain helps make comparisons less misleading when the processing changes the loudness.
Blend mixes the colored signal with the original, and Noise controls the level of the recorded texture associated with the selected era. Please note that Blend can sound slightly phasey in some settings because the plugin uses moving filters, which may be part of the charm if you are aiming for obvious lo-fi color.

After checkout, Safari Audio emails the serial number. An internet connection is needed for the first activation, but the plugin works offline afterward.
Time Machine runs in VST3, AU, and AAX formats on macOS 10.15 or newer. The Windows version supports 64-bit VST3 and AAX on Windows 8 or later.
