Developer Exo Audio has released COLOR, a free one-knob harmoniser for macOS and Windows.

COLOR is a free harmoniser plugin from Exo Audio, and it’s available in AU and VST3 formats for macOS (11 or later) and Windows (10 or later).
If you’re an existing Exo Audio customer, you may be familiar with the developer’s recently released granular resampling plugin, Prysm, and its COLOR FX module.
Now, this new plugin gives us the same sort of harmonic pitch-quantising effect in a simple, easy-to-use dedicated plugin.
COLOR lets you choose a key and control how much of the effect is applied with one main slider.
After you select a key, the plugin pulls wayward content toward the nearest diatonic pitch, removing unwanted dissonance and creating a more polished output.
In some cases, adding that colour and harmony can really bring a track to life and be the difference-maker.
Beyond choosing a key signature, COLOR offers a wide range of scale types, including whole tone, pentatonic, phrygian, and the usual suspects.
It’s missing the built-in keyboard in Prysm’s COLOR module, but I really like that you can select intervals, like fifths or octaves, as well as scales.
Another thing I like about this plugin is that you can target a specific frequency range anywhere from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
If you aren’t familiar with Exo Audio at all yet, something like Xynth Audio’s Chroma might be a reasonable comparison.
COLOR is a somewhat streamlined version of Chroma and similar plugins, and while Chroma sells for up to around $40, COLOR is a nice tool to pick up for free.
