Colonnade combines two independent delay engines in one interface. You can run them separately in Dual mode, make them alternate in Ping-Pong, feed engine A into engine B using Serial routing, or process the middle and sides independently.
Each engine offers Studio, Tape, Bucket, and Ghost characters inside the feedback loop, so the tone and wear accumulate with every repeat. Studio stays clean, Tape adds saturation and instability, Bucket gets darker and more compressed, and Ghost combines bit-depth and sample-rate reduction with a slow warble.
The most interesting control may be Depth. Rather than changing only the volume, it moves each echo line forward or backward using a combination of level, air, smear, arrival time, and stereo width. You can place a short slap close to the source while sending the second engine into a more distant wash.
The visual echo stage displays the repeats at their actual times and lets you drag the illuminated echoes directly, making a fairly deep dual-delay easier to understand.
Delay time runs from 1 ms to four seconds or follows 21 tempo-synced divisions, including dotted and triplet values. Feedback reaches 120% for bounded self-oscillation, and each engine also provides filtering, drive, diffusion, reverse, panning, width, and pitch shifting across two octaves in either direction.
Additional tools include ducking, freeze, per-engine tap tempo, kill dry, mix lock, and 44 factory presets. Colonnade adds zero samples of latency.
