LinPlug has released a fully functional public beta version of their new Spectral virtual additive synthesizer for Windows and Mac.
Our new top of the line synthesizer, the LinPlug Spectral. 14 years of synthesizer building experience. Estimated release is Autumn 2013.
Spectral is available for free download via LinPlug (17.2 MB download size, EXE installer, 32-bit & 64-bit VSTi plugin format for Windows).
Please note that this is a public beta version of the plugin and that it may contain bugs. Don’t use it in any serious projects. On the other hand, it is fully functional and you can play around with it as much as you like!
To get your free copy of the Spectral public beta, click the Downloads tab on the page linked above. Download the provided installation file and use the serial code provided on the page during the installation process.
Your beta version of Spectral will expire on December 31st, 2013. Until then, you can use the current version of Spectral without any limitations! By the way, a beta version for Mac users will be released soon.
Even though it is an additive synthesizer, it is easy to get started with Spectral since it follows the workflow of most subtractive synthesizers. The advanced features are hidden under the hood and will not get in your way until you choose to tweak them.
LinPlug is currently working on a factory sound bank for this product. I’m not sure if the current beta version comes with any factory presets!
