Hephaestus Sounds has released Hang, a collection of free hang drum samples which are formatted for use with Native Instruments Kontakt.
We’re working on 2 new libraries: Fairy Tale Harp and Organissimo (an incredible church organ). But in the meantime, we have this little freebie for you: the Hang.
Hang is available for free download via Hephaestus Sounds (16.2 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 1 instrument in NKI format for Native Instruments Kontakt).
This is the sixth freebie release by Hephaestus Sounds. They’ve released some great sounding NI Kontakt freebies during the past couple of months, and their latest hang drum library is no exception in terms of quality.
The instrument is based on 36 audio samples of the hang drum, with 4 round robin layers. The custom NI Kontakt interface comes with a built-in reverb effect, as well as a Hardness setting which is used to control the timbre (higher settings result in a more metallic sound).
Unfortunately, the sample pack doesn’t include audio samples in WAV format (they are provided in compressed NCW format). You’ll need to use the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt in order to play this sample library without any limitations. If you don’t mind the 20 minute playback limit, you can use it in the freeware Kontakt Player.
