Bronto Scorpio has released an updated version of Dronebox, a fantastic free drone generator for Native Instruments Reaktor.

I hope some of you will have some fun with this ensemble! This ensemble was made using Reaktor 5.8 by the way, so you don’t need the latest update for it.

Dronebox is available for free download via Bronto Scorpio Sound (26.6 kB download size, ZIP archive, contains 1 instrument in ENS format for Native Instruments Reaktor).

The updated version features a minor bug fix, as well as a new set of factory presets. While the instrument is completely free to use and download, Bronto Scorpio Sound accepts donations. You can donate to the developer by using the PayPal button on the download page.

This is an unusual and great sounding instrument. You can see it in action in the official demo video which is embedded below. Dronebox is a perfect tool for creating weird pads and drones, with a limited set of controls for easy tweaking and programming. A good workflow tip is to program your sound and use the Chaos control to make it even more interesting.

You will need the full version of Reaktor by Native Instruments in order to use this virtual synthesizer without any limitations. It will work for 15 minutes in the freeware Reaktor Player.
