Wejaam Designer - Free Pattern Based Drum Machine VSTi Plugin

Wejaam has released Wejaam Designer, a free pattern based drum machine instrument in VSTi plugin and standalone format for Windows and Mac.

Wejaam Designer combines a sequencer, a sampler, a synthesizer and the randomization tool of Groove Drums that allows you to create easily and intuitively grooves and drums loops. The standalone version allows you to use the plugin without the need for a host sequencer and so be able to export Wejaam program independently.

Wejaam Designer is available for free download via Wejaam (25.9 MB download size, EXE installer, 32-bit & 64-bit VSTi plugin format for Windows & Mac).

Please note that you’ll need to submit an email address in order to get the download link. It is also required to activate the plugin after the installation. The activation process is completely free.

Although the instrument was designed specifically for the WEJAAM application on iOS, the developer has also released a plugin version for Windows and Mac. This is a fantastic move, as we really don’t have too many similar instruments in the freeware world (if any). I’ll have to give Wejaam Designer a proper test to see if it fits my workflow, but it definitely looks promising!

Wejaam Designer is both a sampler and a synthesizer, featuring a built-in step sequencer and robust randomization options powered by the Groove Drums instrument architecture. The download includes an effects suite, including reverb, delay, distortion, flanger, etc. A limiter and a compressor are also included.

It seems that Weejam Designer was developed by IMEA Studio, the company who has also developed Grove Drums. It’s quite amazing that Weejam Designer is free, considering the fact that it shares so many features with its commercial counterpart (Groove Drums is priced at €48).
