Enzyme Player - Free Preset Based Synthesizer By Humanoid Systems

Humanoid Systems has released Enzyme Player, a freeware feature limited version of their commercial Enzyme virtual synthesizer for Windows and Mac based digital audio workstations.

Humanoid Sound Systems has now released Enzyme Player, which can be downloaded for the amazing price of $0.00 (FREE)! The plugin contains the complete synthesis engine from our acclaimed Enzyme synth, which has won awards for its innovative design and sound, and has all the essentials for music creation (access to all of the parameters, and the saving of presets is available with the full version).

Enzyme Player is available for free download via Humanoid Systems (267.9 MB download size, EXE installer, available in 32-bit & 64-bit VSTi/AUi plugin format for Windows & Mac).

Please note that you’ll need to submit a working email address in order to download your free copy of the Enzyme Player virtual instrument. After adding the product to your shopping cart and submitting your email address, your key file and the download link will be delivered to you in two separate emails. Keep the key file, as you’ll need to apply it during the installation.

Enzyme Player is almost identical to the Enzyme CM version which was distributed on the cover DVD of Computer Music magazine. The free version of Enzyme comes with 50 built-in presets and several limitations. Unfortunately, preset saving is disabled. Adding to that, the synthesis parameters, including the mod matrix and the effects rack, can’t be accessed. On the positive side, most of the included presets sound really nice and will be useful to producers who are looking for more aggressive synthesized sounds. Each included preset comes with up to 16 performance parameters which can be tweaked on the go, adding movement to your sounds.

Perhaps the best idea is to download Enzyme Player and browse through the included presets before deciding whether it’s a keeper or not. The Enzyme CM demo video embedded below will give you a good idea about the kind of sounds this synthesizer can produce.

The full version of Enzyme is priced at $49.99 and doesn’t have any of the limitations from the free version. It received a fairly positive 8/10 score in the Computer Music review.
