Vibrant Digital Engineering has released the Diode-108 Drum Machine, an innovative sample-based drum sequencer app for the Apple iPad. We are taking a quick look at some of the app’s stand-out features and giving away one free copy of the Diode-108 Drum Machine which was kindly provided by Vibrant Digital Engineering!
Diode-108 Drum Machine was designed to become the ultimate beat making tool on the iPad, offering a unique set of performance-oriented features which make it more versatile when compared to other similar iOS apps. The app features a 16-voice architecture, with the ability to build fully customized drum kits.
Apart from the powerful 16-step sequencer with 16 drum voices per patch, Diode-108 Drum Machine offers some cool workflow tweaks such as the ability to apply effects per-step (for example, applying reverb to an individual drum hit) and “Note Mode” which makes it possible to perform melodies using virtually any loaded sample. By tweaking the sound of each step, it’s easy to make the sequenced drum grooves sound more organic and interesting to the listener. The app is also compatible with Audiobus, so connecting it to your other music making apps is a simple task.
In addition to the awesome feature set, it’s certainly worth noting that Diode-108 Drum Machine is delivered with a large collection of licensed sounds featuring dozens of kits and hundreds of samples made by Dubsounds, Samples From Mars, Orange Tree Samples and our own indie sound design label 99Sounds (specifically the Hands Make Sounds and 99 Drum Samples packs).
