Ample Sound has released Ample Bass P Lite II, a freeware VST/AU/AAX/RTAS plugin based on their commercial Ample Bass P II virtual bass guitar instrument.
Ample Bass P Lite II is a free feature-limited version of Ample Bass P II, which is part of the developer’s Bass Series product line. This freeware instrument contains a lower number of samples (443 instead of 2,851) and less round robin variations (two instead of four) compared to the full version of the product. The note range is also shorter in the free version (D1 – F4 instead of B0 – F4).

It will fit a wide variety of music styles, including rock, pop, garage, etc. If you’re looking for a free source of sampled electric bass guitar sounds that you can load up in your DAW with zero fuss, this one is absolutely worth a try. Ample Sound is known for providing great sounding sampled instruments, packed into nicely designed and very functional virtual instruments for PC and Mac. Apart from a range of performance controls and fine tuning parameters that are available on the front panel, you also get a pretty neat tab panel for sequencing your bass parts.
The freebie can be downloaded directly from the developer’s website, completely free of charge. You don’t need to register for a user account, or activate Ample Bass P Lite II on your computer. Simply install it and you’re good to go. If you like this free bass instrument, you should definitely also check out the free AGML II virtual guitar plugin by the same developer. It is a sampled acoustic guitar instrument based on a sound engine that is very similar to the one used in Ample Bass P Lite II.

Ample Bass P Lite II is available for free download via Ample Sound (204 MB download size, EXE installer, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU/AAX/RTAS plugin format for Windows & Mac OS).
