Maxx McGee has released Three Cowbells, a freely downloadable cowbell sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt 5.8.0 or higher.
Three Cowbells requires the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5. It will only work in demo mode in the free Kontakt Player instrument, resulting in silence after fifteen minutes of use.

The library features three different cowbells which were played with three different articulations (stick, beater, and mallet). The samples were recorded using close and room mics with eight round-robin variations and five velocity layers per sample. The custom user interface for NI Kontakt provides direct access to volume, pan, tune, and resonance controls for each cowbell, along with microphone balance, reverb, dampening, and articulation adjustments.

The sampled cowbells sound very good so be sure to download the library if you’re looking to add more percussion to your arsenal. You know the famous words – MORE COWBELL! The only problem is that the download server seems to be very slow at the moment, resulting in corrupted files and download errors. I managed to obtain my free copy of Three Cowbells after quite a few failed download attempts.
Three Cowbells is available for free download via Maxx McGee’s website (309 MB download size, ZIP archive, compatible with Native Instruments Kontakt 5.8.0 or higher).
