Loopmasters have introduced Loopcloud 4, a freeware cloud-based sample manager application with built-in sample editing and slicing tools.

Loopcloud is a freeware audio sample management and organization software developed by Loopmasters. The plugin can be used to catalog and organize your existing samples as well as to purchase additional loops and samples individually form the Loopmasters online store. Finding the right audio loop or one-shot sample for your current project is easy thanks to Loopcloud’s excellent tagging and search functionality.

Loopcloud 4 introduces a range of new features, most important of which are the audio editing capabilities. The user can now slice, reverse, rearrange, fade, adjust the start point of a sample. The audio can be dragged and rearranged even before it’s downloaded from the cloud. Additionally, the Loopcloud plugin will now respond to MIDI input like a regular virtual instrument. This way, the user can play Loopcloud’s samples chromatically across the keyboard as if they were loaded in a sampler.

The developers have also improved the speed of the search function, along with providing a more refined tagging system and increasing the download speed. Loopcloud 4 now also comes with a more robust keyboard shortcut system and allows the user to copy/paste the samples between the plugin and their digital audio workstation instead of dragging and dropping.

You can download your free copy of Loopcloud 4 directly from the product page linked below. It can be used as a standalone application or as a plugin in VST, AU, and AAX formats for compatible hosts on PC and Mac. You’ll need to sign up for a free Loopmasters user account in order to access the application. The app comes with a set of royalty-free samples right out of the box and Loopmasters are delivering fresh free content for Loopcloud 4 each week.

Loopcloud 4 is available for free download via Loopmasters (115 MB download size, EXE installer, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU/AAX plugin format for Windows & MacOS).

  1. Can we include our own sample libraries from the PC? They mentioned previously that they will be looking to add this functionality, but I guess this goes counter to the business model.

We added the ability to index and auto tag your own samples in version 3. Just drag and drop some folders of samples onto the app. Indexing and analysis takes a while because it works out info such as the BPM of each loop.
