8DIO is offering the Post-Apocalyptic Guitar sound library for Native Instruments Kontakt as a completely free download this Christmas.
Post-Apocalyptic Guitar is a post-rock guitar sample library for NI Kontakt. It is inspired by the guitar sound of post-rock bands like Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Cul De Sac, and others. The included guitar phrases are sorted into two categories: Yin (soft guitar phrases) and Yang (hard guitar phrases).

The user can use the MIDI keyboard to control the sample pitch, trigger the layered phrases, and trigger live effects like distortion, flanger, phaser, and more. The phrases are automatically synchronized to the host tempo. The tone controls, filter, compression, and noise get can be fine-tuned using the on-screen controls. Please note that the full version of NI Kontakt is required to use the library without the demo limitations of the Kontakt Player. Post-Apocalyptic Guitar is normally priced at $99 but you can get it completely free of charge this Christmas.
8DIO is also offering the Free You collaboration sound library as a free download. It features 11.2 GB of sample data (compressed to 4.5 GB for a smaller download) submitted by over 200 sound designers. The library contains over 300 presets, each with three individual sound layers. The user can customize each preset with the Sound Layer Position System, the built-in effects, and the modulation sequencer. The idea behind Free You was to create a personal collection of memorable sounds. 8DIO asked fellow sound designers to record the five most important sounds in their life and provide them as material for this collaborative sound library.
